PhD in Composition awarded by Royal Birmingham Conservatoire
Spring 2014 - Selected to attend the Composit Composition Program, Rieti, Italy, 1st - 13th of July. The course takes place during the Composit international festival for composers and conductors, and will include seminars, masterclasses and tutorials with Philippe Leroux and Joshua Fineberg, who are among the leading composers of the contemporary spectral movement. The course ends with the performance of a new work which will be written specially for the Composit Ensemble.

London Philharmonic Ochestra 'Debut Sounds' Concert

Composit Composition Program, Rieti, Italy
Spring 2014 - Selected to participate in the Temp'óra International Meeting in Cenon, France. Temp'óra is a network of composers and performers, meeting once a about once a year to develop new works and performances. While in France, I will rehearse new work(s) which will be performed in a concert at the end of the meeting.
Composer in Residence, IConArts Academy, Sibiu, Romania
May 2014 - Selected to be composer in residence at the ICoArts Academy, Romania, from the 23rd to 31st of July 2014. The IConArts Academy runs in conjunction with the IConArts Festival, a great showcase of concerts and exhibitions in and around Sibiu, in the heart of Transylvania. 5th of June, 2014 - Launch of 'Music and Identity in Ireland and Beyond', Hodges Figgis Bookshop, Dublin. The book is published by Ashgate and is edited by Mark Fitzgerald (DIT Conservatory of Music and Drama) and John O'Flynn (St Patrick's College, Dublin City University). Music and Identity in Ireland and Beyond
Jerwood Opera Writing Programme, 2014 - 15
During 2014 - 15, I will have the opportunity to spend three weeks in Aldeburgh, as a participant on the Jerwood Opera Writing Programme. The programme is for composers, writers and directors who are interested in the creation of new opera. Creative partnerships are formed during the course, and the programme culminates with staged performances of new opera scenes, at the Britten Studio, Snape Matlings.
AumentAzioni 2016 - VI International Festival of Electronic Music
On the 5th of October, my work Ungelīc is Ūs was performed at the Conservatorio di Musica Guiseppe Martucci, Salerno, Italy, in a concert which included works by other composers from Birmingham Conservatoire.
On the 27th of September, my composition portfolio and thesis, entitled 'The Difference Between Us: Using Early Medieval Northern European Texts in the Creation of a Work for Instrumental Ensemble, Voices and Electronics' was examined and passed with no corrections.
Encyclopaedia of Music in Ireland
October 2013 - The publication of the 'Encyclopaedia of Music in Ireland' (EMIR), launched by President Michael D. Higgins. The encyclopaedia is published by UCD Press. I contributed a number of articles, including the entry on the Irish national anthem.
Composing For Flute and Clarinet - Psappha
Between October 2017 and March 2018, I participated in Psappha's 'Composing For...' scheme, creating a new work for flute and clarinet.
