TEACHING

At Royal Birmingham Conservatoire, Birmingham City University, I am module leader of Music Technology Contexts. This is a 1-year course for masters students. Students submit a 3000-word essay for assessent at the end of the course. Key areas covered during the module include:

 

- the origins and development of electroacoustic music

- music as process

- voice and body in electroacoustic music

- the development of live electronics

- installations and sound art

- live interfaces

- composing with space

MUSIC TECHNOLOGY CONTEXTS

Recent lectures and workshops for undergraduate and postgraduate students at Birmingham City University have included subjects such as:

- practice-based research

- writing a funding application

- postdoctoral pathways
